DVD-2 (Red) - Debian Linux
DVD-ROM 2 (Red) contains a complete Debian Linux distribution. Only students enrolled in courses that require Linux need this DVD-ROM.
The following list of courses either require Linux or recommend using Linux:
- CSC2404 Operating Systems
- CSC2406 Web Publishing
- CSC2408 Software Development Tools
- CSC3403 Comparative Programming Languages
- CSC3407 Computer Communication and Internetworking
- CSC3418 Computer Games Programming
Even if you are not doing these courses now but plan to do courses that require or recommend Linux - now is the time to install Linux and become familiar with it - before it is required!
Please consult the individual course material for definitive information on the course requirements. If in doubt contact the course examiner.
If you have already installed Debian or a version of Linux from a previous year or another flavour of Linux then contact your course examiner to see if there is any need to reinstall.
